Bowling for the Atari ST/STE

A port of Atari 2600 *Bowling* (Larry Kaplan, 1979) to the Atari ST and STE (ST Low and ST High). It plays like the 2600 original: same rules, physics, scoring, colours and sound, at the 2600's 60 frames per second.

Running

Start `BOWLING.PRG` from the desktop, a floppy or a hard disk. It needs a colour monitor; it was tested on an 8 MHz ST and an STE in Hatari, with EmuTOS/TOS. It sets the display to 60 Hz while it runs. The TT and Falcon are not supported yet.

Player 1: Joystick port 1, or cursor keys + Space

Player 2: Joystick port 0 (mouse port), or W/S/A/D + Tab

Game select: F1
Game reset: F2
Colour / black & white: F3 (each press switches)
Left difficulty A / B: F4 (each press switches)
Right difficulty A / B: F5 (each press switches)
(quit): Esc or Undo

STE enhanced controller:
A, B or C: Throw the ball
Option: Game select
A, B or C: Start game (while selecting)

'*': Colour / B&w
'1': Left difficulty toggle
'2': Right difficulty toggle

A button that started a game has to be released before it throws a ball. The game starts in colour with both difficulty switches at B.

Game numbers are as in the 2600 manual: 1, 3 and 5 are for one player and 2, 4 and 6 for two players; 1/2 curve the ball, 3/4 steer it and 5/6 roll it straight. Tip: start at the bottom of the lane, throw, and push up at about the fourth rolling sound for a strike.

Inspiration: This port was directly inspired by TjLaZer's ports of Atari 2600 games to the Atari ST (https://tjlazer.itch.io/). I picked Bowling because it was one of my favourite games on the 32-in-1 cartridge.
